I'm back again and ready to finish the small subdivision! So during last weeks post we defined a few alignments, when the alignments fully closed they created parcel objects. Then from the parcel objects we created ROW lines. Then next step in this process is to subdivide the lots.
The first thing I want you to do is draw a polyline subdividing the lot in the middle of the site as shown here.
Next you want to go to your parcels pull-down menu --> Create from objects and select the line that you just drew and your lot has been subdivided.
* Note: in the create parcels dialog box you have the ability to assign your site, or create a new one on the fly, select your parcel style (how your parcel linework is displayed), your parcel area style (what type of information you would like to
be displayed in the center of your parcel i.e. Name and Acrege), you can choose to Automatically label the parcels are they are defined and select the appropriate line and curve labels and last but not least you have the option to delete your existing linework.

Go to Parcels --> Create by Layout. You want to expand the Layout Toolbar by selecting the and
enter in the following settings and select the Slide Angle Create method of defining your parcel object.
enter in the following settings and select the Slide Angle Create method of defining your parcel object.*Note: at this point it may be beneficial for you to compress your toolbar so you can maximize your drawing area.
When prompted to Pick a point within the parcel to be subdivided select the parcel to the South. You are not prompted to select your frontage and you do NOT have to have your osnaps on in order to accomplish this task. It is very simple and you can simply select where you would like the frontage for your parcels to be. Please refer to the screen capture below for the frontage.
Specify angle and frontage should be 90 degrees in this case. On your command line it will verify the square footage that you want to use for these parcels, if you are happy with the value hit Enter. Your lots should be show at this point and you can now hit Enter to end your command.Hope this was useful information and once again, if you would like me to supply you with the drawing please send your request to melanie.santer@lacad.com and I would be more than happy to furnish this information to you.
Have a great day!
