Hello Hello,
I am truly sorry it has been such a long time since my last post. What a slacker I have been on blogging these days. My main excuse for my lack of "blogging" is that Civil 3D Implementations are taking off. I am busier now with Civil 3D then I have EVER been and I am loving it :)
During my trials and tribulations out in the real world I can across an issue that many of my clients have been wondering "How in the heck to I reset my numbering for my structures in a Pipe Network"? What I mean by this statement is if you have created a Pipe Network with some structures in it the numbering usually starts at (1) for your first structure (2) for your second and so on. If you happen to delete a couple of Structures and create new ones you will have gaps in your structure numbers because Civil 3D does NOT automatically re-start your numbering. Of course you can go into the Structure Properties and re-name your structure, but I am going to show you how you can set than numbering back.
On your prospector tab select the Pipe Network right-click and go to Properties. While in your Pipe Network Properties dialog box select the Layout tab (see image below)

If you hit the icon just to the right of the text Structure - (<[Next Counter(CP)]>) it will bring up a Name Template dialog box that will allow you to reset your starting number.Hope you find this beneficial :)
Have a great day!
