Well, it's been a LONG time coming but it looks as if the second version of SP 2, which is SP 2.1 actually works and to the best of my knowledge does NOT break anything.

Melanie, note that the version reported inside Civil 3D once the update is applied is actually 3.1!! Check this by viewing the About dialog, then clicking on Product Information. Autodesk strikes again!
